In the version of the article initially published, in the “Current feed use and cropland occupation by animals” section, the text “produce one unit of human-edible animal product (for example, boneless meat)” should have read “produce one unit of animal product (milk, eggs and liveweight gain).” In the caption to Fig. 3, both instances of “ASF” should have read “animal products (milk, eggs and liveweight gain)”. In the “Quantification of feed-related environmental impacts” section, both instances of “that is, milk, egg or meat” should have read “milk, eggs or liveweight gain”. Additionally, in various supplementary tables, “animal products” has been expanded to “animal products (milk, eggs and liveweight gain)”. These corrections have been made to the HTML and PDF versions of the article.
