Phase diagram of Ir as obtained from the experimental data acquired in this study, together with the phase diagram proposed by Burakovsky et al.13 and the melting curves of MgO31 and KCl32,33. The experimental data points are color-coded according to the PTM employed: black for KCl and gold for MgO. The dashed black line represents the theoretically predicted phase boundary between the fcc and the rhcp phases of Ir. The empty black circle represents Ir melting point at ambient P as reported in Young55.
