  1. Results of generalized additive model reporting the estimated degrees of freedom (edf), reference degrees of freedom (ref.df), F statistic, and p value for each variable in the model. Results demonstrate a positive partial covariance between fire activity and population density even when holding all other variables constant, and negligible relationships between fire activity and climate (drought (PDSI) and ENSO), and fuels (AP : NAP ratio).
