From: Success of post-fire plant recovery strategies varies with shifting fire seasonality
The response of plants to fires in different seasons may be influenced by interactions with fire severity, intensity, and time since previous fire. To assess how impactful these interactions were on plant responses, we recorded all mentions of these fire metrics from each of the sampled articles. No fire metrics were recorded within 38 of the 53 target articles. Of the 53 articles only 26 mentioned time since previous fire and only one article [109] used time since previous fire in their experimental design. A total of 18 metrics were reported from the 53 articles and despite their similarities, no consistent metric was found to allow for comparisons between articles.
