The brine-seawater interface is positioned at 1769.46 m water depth (base of blue shading), demarked by the abrupt decrease in dissolved oxygen concentration (blue line) and increase in salinity (green line). Note that the CTD conductivity probe saturated at 120 PSU and the true brine salinity was determined in the lab to be 160 PSU (green dot). The temperature differential between the brine and overlying seawater is <1 °C (red line).
