Note that all axes have the same scale to allow comparison between profiles, apart from the distance across the profiles. Blue river floor corresponds to areas with positive correlation between MP concentration and organic matter and mud content (see also Fig. 4). Red river floor corresponds to areas without correlation between MP concentration and organic matter and mud content.
