In the Discussion and implications section of this article, the sentence “These assumptions yield a moment magnitude, Mw, ranging from 8.0 to 8.3 and greater than the magnitude calculated from seismological data.” was incorrectly given and should have read “These assumptions yield a moment magnitude, Mw, ranging from 7.7 to 8 and somewhat greater than the magnitude calculated from seismological data.” The original article has been corrected.
