Hyperspectral data of the EnMAP satellite mission¹⁹ is fed into a one-dimensional (1D) convolutional neural network¹⁷, which predicts 20 different plant functional traits per scene. These traits are then used to calculate functional diversity indices and analyze their changes over time.
