Climate is the combined effect of mean annual temperature and precipitation. Soil chemistry is the combined effect of pH (1:2 CaCl2) as well as the concentration of total extractable aluminum, calcium, carbon, iron, magnesium, nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, silicon, and sodium (mmol kg−1).
