  1. For continuous variables, the values are mentioned as median (interquartile range), and for categorical variables the values are mentioned as count (percentage). Continuous variables were compared using a two-sided Student’s t-test (if normally distributed per Shapiro-Wilk test) or Mann-Whitney U test (otherwise). Categorical variables were compared using the Chi-squared test (if all expected cell counts were ≥5) or Fisher’s exact test (otherwise).
