The triangles in each wave are based on links \({J}_{{ij}}\) that were updated based on participants’ answers in that wave according to Eq. (3). The differently colored lines represent the triangles --- (green), ++- (orange), +-- (red), +++ (blue). The empirically observed patterns are similar to the predictions of the dyadic model, but not to those of the triadic model (Fig. 4).
