(a) The figure illustrates the number of small check dams that were breached or partially breached in each district of Balochistan province due to extreme monsoon rainfall in 2022. High dam breaches were identified in the most populous districts, and their impacts are also illustrated per district. In panels (b–d), the three breaching models are presented in response to extreme rainfall, with blue arrows indicating the flow direction and red areas representing the breaching dimensions.
