If animals are present in a given image, volunteers are asked to tag individuals by clicking on them, and classify them as ‘adult’, ‘chick’, ‘egg’, or ‘other’ (the latter can be used to identify other fauna, ships or humans). Once an image has been classified, volunteers are given the opportunity to ‘talk’ about it on a Penguin Watch forum.
