Group functional activation for the contrast [2D-Different > 2D-Repeat] in the whole-brain voxel-wise analysis.

Activation is overlaid on the inflated cortical surface of a representative observer. Widespread repetition-based changes in activation for pictures of objects were observed across temporal and parietal cortex. Conversely, no such activation changes were identified for real 3D objects [i.e., using the contrast 3D-Different > 3D-Repeat] at the same threshold.
