Genotype is defined as follows: ‘A+’ = 202C (wild-type), ‘A+/−’ = 202CT (heterozygous), ‘A−’ = 202T (deficient). The estimated proportion of high (blue) and low (red) intensity cells for each individual is indicated. NB: The micrographs show two populations of RBCs, one that is bright (G6PD+) and another that is dim (G6PD-).
