C-5 sterol desaturase is conserved across the kingdoms.

Multiple sequence alignment of the deduced amino acid sequence of FvC5SD with C-5 sterol desaturase from other organisms. The amino acid sequences of F. velutipes (JN696291)), Homo sapiens (BAA33729), Mus musculas (O88822) Arabidopsis thaliana (CAA62079), Nicotiana tabacum (AAD20458), Saccharomyces pombe (NP_593135), Saccharomyces cerevisiae (EDN59602) and Candida albicans (XP_713612) are compared. The sequences were aligned using CLUSTAL W software. Accession numbers of sequences are embraced by brackets. Highlighted in yellow is the position of conserved histidine rich motifs.
