Vimentin mediates DSS-induced colitis.
Vim KO and WT mice were treated with 4.5% DSS provided in the drinking water for 8 consecutive days. Mice were monitored for body weight (A, n = 3, * P < 0.005), presence of blood in the stools during the 14 days of treatment (B, n = 3, * P < 0.005) and survival (C, Vim KO (n = 20), WT (n = 15) * P < 0.005).
