From: Fatigue-Induced Damage in Zr-Based Bulk Metallic Glasses
(a) Reduced pair-distribution functions of the as-cast and fatigued samples. No significant changes between the as-cast and fatigued samples were found, but we do observe small differences in the short-range-order part (within 8 Å). (b) A very small but notable diffraction anisotropy, found in the fracture-surface region. It might result from severe plastic deformation inside the shearing plane at the final stage of the failure (fast cracking).
