The PCA scores plot is based on a full resolution NMR data set consisting of six replicates of Caco-2 cells, E. coli K-12 cells and Caco2-E. coli co-culture, four replicates of starting medium and a total of 41 measured metabolites (goodness of fit, R2 = 0.952; prediction reliability, Q2 = 0.932). (b). The PCA scores plot illustrates a separation between the extracellular metabolic profiles of E. coli K-12 cells and Caco2-E. coli co-culture (goodness of fit, R2 = 0.662; prediction reliability, Q2 = 0.286).
