Synchronized oscillations in VO2 oscillators and their coupling dynamics.
(a) Schematic of two capacitively coupled VO2 oscillators. Individually, the oscillators are tuned to different oscillating frequencies using Rs1 and Rs2 of 38 kΩ ( = 6Rc) and 47 kΩ ( = 7.5Rc), respectively. (b) Experimental and simulated power spectrum of both oscillators before and after coupling. The individual oscillator frequencies lock to a new frequency when coupled capacitively (CC = 680 pF). (c) Effect of CC on the full width at half maximum (FWHM) of the spectral line width and resonant frequency of coupled VO2 oscillators. Decreasing FWHM with increased CC reflects the increased coupling strength. (d) Effect of external resistance symmetry on the coupling strength. The coupling strength is maximal when the oscillators are identical (equal Rs).
