(b) Next-nearest neighbor interaction, e.g., between spirals 123 and 345, that generates two products (e.g., the new spirals 234 and 451). The system is composed of two N = 500 × 500 sublattices and the two different kinds of spirals are separated initially to within the left and right sublattices.
