Curcumin induces cytoplasmic vacuolation-mediated cell death by increasing ER stress.

PC-3M cells were treated with 50 μM curcumin for the indicated intervals and the expression of LC3, polyubiquitinated proteins (A) and the ER stress markers phospho-eIF2α, CHOP, Bip/GRP78 and IRE1-α (B) were analyzed via western blot. Equal protein loading was confirmed in the western blot by probing for β-actin.
