L. pneumophila strains were fixed with formaldehyde and attached to cover slips. Fixed bacteria were treated with lysozyme followed by methanol to permeabilize bacterial peptideglycan layer and membranes and then stained with indicated antibodies and DAPI. Localization of Dot proteins are shown in red, bacteria are shown in blue.
