Up-regulated (red) and down-regulated (green) unigenes were quantified using the tag-based digital gene expression (IDEG6) tool. Details of results from six comparisons, representing major life-stage transitional phases (i.e., eggs/2nd; 2nd/5th; 5th/AFA and 5th/AMA), sex differences (AFA/AMA) and reproductive stage (AFA/eggs), are provided in the main text. Note ‘2nd’, ‘5th’, AMA and AFA are 2nd instar nymph stage, 5th instar nymph stage, adult male and adult female life stages, respectively.
