Respiratory droplet transmission of rAH/1 in guinea pigs.

Groups of six guinea pigs were inoculated with 10⁶ EID₅₀ of H7N9/AAca or with PBS. Three weeks later, three animals from each group were put in neighboring cages (A and B) (to monitor respiratory droplet transmission) or the same cages (C and D) (to monitor direct contact transmission) that hosted three guinea pigs that were inoculated with 10⁶ EID₅₀ of rAH/1 virus. Each color bar represents a value from an individual animal. The dashed black lines indicate the lower limit of detection.
