HLA variant distribution in clinical progression groups in women with either HHSs/CRFs or URFs.

a. The number and percentage of HIV-infected women carrying HHSs or CRFs in clinical groups with distinct disease progression profiles: long-term non-progressors (LTNPs), long-term survivors (LTSs), slow progressors (SLPs), standard progressors (SP) and rapid progressors (RPs). In each group, we indicated the distribution of HLA variants associated with delayed disease progression (beneficial HLA-variants), standard progression (neutral HLA-variants) or rapid progression (detrimental HLA-variants). b. As in A, except using data from the group of women carrying unique recombinant forms of HIV-1.
