Photocatalytic reduction of PVS by CdS QDs (a) Chemical structure of N,N’-bis(3-sulfonatopropyl)-4,4′-bipyridinium (PVS). (b) Time variation plots of the PVS radical anion concentration under microwaves at 1.5 W and conventional heating. The reaction mixture contains 2 mM PVS, H2O, MeOH and the CdS QDs anchored on SiO2 particles. The reaction temperature was 52 °C. The error bars were estimated by standard deviation of three experiments.
