Panel A, ΔHypA1; panel B, ΔHypB1. Strains were grown either under continuous white light (50 μE m−2 s−1) or darkness. O.D.730 of WT (dark grey) and mutants (light grey) cultures were measured after five days and for each growth condition the values were normalized to the O.D.730 of the corresponding WT (5.8 ± 0.9 and 1.6 ± 0.1 for light and darkness, respectively). Reported data result from the mean of three independent experiments ± Standard Deviation.
