  1. *4-week-old chickens were infected with the wt and mutated virus at 105 EID50/chicken via the intranasal route. Two chickens per group were sacrificed on day 5 post-infection. Tissues were collected and titers were determined by calculating the EID50 in SPF embryos. The titers are expressed as the mean ± SD (n = 3). ND, not detected.
