(A) Schematic representation for the synthesis of CBTTs; (B) BPTT causes arrest of HepG2 cells in SubG1 phase. Hepatoma cells treated with BPTT (0–20 μM) displayed the arrest of HepG2 cells in SubG1 phase of cell cycle. (C) Inhibition of the catalytic activity of PTP1B by BPTT was shown. PTP1B activity was measured by determining the free phosphate released from the PTP1B substrate with BPTT. Optical density was read at 620 nm and readings were converted to nmol of PO42−. Each column represents the means of two determinations. *p < 0.05.
