MSC treatment affects CD4⁺ T cell responses in vivo.

Male LDLr KO mice received three i.v. injections of either PBS (control) or 0.5 × 10⁶ MSCs (MSC) and were then fed a Western-type diet (WTD) for eight weeks. (a) CD4⁺ T cells, as well as the percentage of FoxP3⁺ regulatory T cells (Treg) within CD4⁺ T cells, were measured in the circulation throughout the entire experiment by flow cytometry. (b) After eight weeks, effector CD4⁺ T cells, determined as CD62L⁻ within CD4⁺ T cells, as well as T cell subsets of CD4⁺ T cells in the circulation and spleen were determined by flow cytometry.
