From: Eco-physiological adaptation shapes the response of calcifying algae to nutrient limitation
Annual mean surface phosphate concentrations and isolation sites of the strains used in this study.
Data was obtained from the publicly available World Ocean Atlas 2013 database, provided by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA, www.nodc.noaa.gov/OC5/WOA09/netcdf_data.html)42. The distribution of phosphate was drawn in the Mollweide projection, using M_Map, a mapping package for Matlab freely available at http://www.eos.ubc.ca/~rich/map.html. The original 1° data were interpolated into a 0.25° grid.
