Kinetics of the translation and folding of CCR5.

Representative time courses for the appearance of translated and folded CCR5 were performed in the cell-free reaction mixture, with the following additions: (a) none, (b) DMPHBA (GroEL-GroES inhibitor), (c) GroEL-GroES, or (d) GroEL-GroES and DMPHBA. The fit of the kinetic data to a simplified consecutive reaction model (Materials and Methods) is shown to describe the appearance of translated protein and the formation of translated-folded protein; this approach was used to estimate the apparent rate constants for these two processes.
