Dioscin down-regulates inflammation and fibrosis related mRNA and proteins in vivo.

(A) Effects of dioscin on the protein levels of TLR4, MyD88, NF-κB, TGF-β1, p-Smad2/Smad2, α-SMA and COL1A1 in mice. The cropped gels are used and full-length gels are presented in Supplementary Fig. S8. (B) Effects of dioscin on the mRNA levels of TNF-α, IL-1 and IL-6 in mice. (C) Dioscin suppressed the mRNA levels of TGF-β1, α-SMA and COL1A1 following HSCs activation in mice. The values are expressed as the mean ± SD (n = 3). *p < 0.05 and **p < 0.01 vs. control group, #p < 0.05 and ##p < 0.01 vs. model group.
