Effect of extracellular Mg2 + concentrations on growth of B. subtilis and its Mg2 + uptake system-deleted mutant strains.
WT (B. subtilis BR151MA), ΔABPSΔKQ and ΔΔTCA-AB1 strains were grown for 9 h at 37 °C in 2 × TY medium with 1% xylose plus MgCl2 (0, 1, 2.5, 5, or 10 mM) with shaking. Growth was assessed hourly at A600.
