Correlation analyses between the colonic pH, colonic LPS levels and mucosa-associated microbiota (at the genus level) and the levels of mucosal inflammatory cytokines expression.

Only the predominant bacterial genera (relative abundance ≥1% in at least one sample) for which abundance was significantly associated with inflammatory cytokines expression are presented; Cells are colored based on Pearson correlation coefficient between the colonic pH, colonic LPS levels, mucosa-associated microbiota and the levels of inflammatory cytokines expression in colonic mucosa. The red color represents a significant positive correlation (P < 0.05), the blue color represents a significant negative correlation (P < 0.05) and the green and yellow shows that the correlation was not significant (P > 0.05).
