Ne and TK were log-transformed to improve normality. PCS_Soil properties were calculated as the measure of soil nutrient availability within each plot using only the first three components in the PCA analysis with eigenvalues above 1 (88.50% of the variance explained, also see Methods). All significance was determined for the Bonferroni corrections.
