The differentiated PC12 cells were pre-conditioned with Mn complexs 1 and 2 for 12 h (a) or 24 h (b), and treated with H2O2 (100 μM) for 12 h. HIF-1α and HIF target genes expression were detected by reverse transcription-PCR. (c,d) Statistical analysis of HIF-1α gene expression levels. (e,f) Statistical analysis of VEGF gene expression levels. (g,h) Statistical analysis of EPO gene expression levels. (i,j) Statistical analysis of VEGF gene expression levels. The expressions of mRNA levelss were given as HIF-1α/β-Actin, VEGF/β-Actin, EPO/β-Actin and HO-1/β-Actin ratio. The data are presented as mean ± SD of three independent experiments (One Way ANOVA, *P < 0.05, **P < 0.01 vs. only H2O2 stimulation but without any pretreatment).
