VOA-induced apoptosis and autophagy in A172 cells were associated with the decrease in p53 level.
A172 (A) and U251 (B) cells were treated with indicated concentrations of VOA for 48 h or with VOA (100 μg/ml for A172 cells and 200 μg/ml for U251 cells) for indicated time points. Then, expression of p53 was detected by Western blotting. The blots were a representative of three independent experiments. (C) A172 cells were pre-treated with or without PFT-α (10 μM) for 2 h or transfected with si-p53 or si-CTRL for 6 h and then treated with VOA (100 μg/ml) for 48 h. Expression of LC3II/I, p62, cleaved caspase 3, p-mTOR, mTOR, p-AMPK, AMPK. The blots were a representative of three independent experiments.
