The data are expressed as mean ± SE (standard error). (A) Quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR) analysis of FADS2 mRNA levels in peripheral blood of 18 PCOS cases and 18 controls. The FADS2 mRNA level was normalized to β-actin and then adjusted by age and BMI using covariance analysis. (B) FADS2 mRNA levels in peripheral blood of 30 PCOS cases with TT, CT or CC genotypes, after normalization to β-actin and adjustment with age and BMI.
