Experiments were performed in medium containing 20 mM HEPES-Tris, pH 7.5, 0.05% n-dodecyl β-d-maltoside, 100 mM KCl, and varying NaCl concentrations. The detergent-solubilized NaR was illuminated by the laser flash at zero time. Black, green, red, blue, purple, and yellow curves correspond to NaCl concentrations of 0.03, 1, 4, 16, 64, and 200 mM, respectively.
