Read-out images of IPs covering the substrates with (a) several smectite species, (b) ferruginous smectite (SWa-1) and several mineral species other than smectite, (c) WB and SWa-1. Four particles were arranged on the substrates for each mineral species. The radioactivity input to the solution was 1.85 Bq and the reaction period was 24 hours. The meanings of the figure at the top-right of each image and abbreviations of the minerals are the same as those in Fig. 1.
