Blots were was analysed by densitometry (n = 11, *P < 0.05). (C) Western blot analysis of pools of NP tissue stained with antibodies against the p38α, β, γ and δ (n = 11). (D,F) Western blot analysis of p38 α, β, γ and δ isoforms as well as phosphorylated p38 MAPK expression in degenerated nucleus pulposus samples of MRI grades II (n = 3), III (n = 3), IV (n = 4) and V (n = 4). Blots were was analysed by densitometry (*P < 0.05).
