Altered target gene expression in midgut following yeast feeding treatment.
Relative expression of target gene y-tubulin 23C in (a) adult midgut and (b) larval midgut following three days of treatment with yeast expressing dsRNA. Ten midguts were dissected and homogenized to obtain one RNA sample. Expression was quantified with RT-qPCR and was normalized against housekeeping gene cbp20. The expression level in the control is scaled to one and treated expression levels are plotted relative to the control. Each data point represents one biological replicate and the horizontal line indicates the mean. For (a) n = 4 and (b) n = 5. Significance relative to the control was determined by two-tailed t-test (*indicates p < 0.05 and **indicates p < 0.01).
