The promoter activities were measured 48 hours after transient transfection of the reporter plasmids containing the major OCTN2 haplotypes (a) or genetic variants (b) into HCT-116 cells. Then, the luciferase activity of each construct was compared with that of the reference (REF, H1). The data (mean ± SD) were obtained from triplicate wells. **P < 0.01, ***P < 0.001 vs. reference promoter activity.
