QD centers lie on a circle of radius pa, where a is the superlattice constant, and the helix is parametrically defined by the equations x(t) = pa cos(2πt), y(t) = pa sin(2πt) and z(t) = ±at, where −∞ ≤ t ≤ ∞ and the sign plus or minus corresponds to the right-handed or left-handed helix.
