The mitochondrial DNA deletion, reflected as the 951 bp DNA segment, was observed in only one of the four tested animals (Lane 13) from group ST+EI while it was seen in all the four tested animals from group ST+EL and ST. The internal control, the 496 bp band, was seen in each tested animal from all the three groups. EI = Emulsified Isoflurane; EL = Emulsified Intralipid; ST = St. Thomas cardioplegia solution (n = 4).
