(A) Constructs used in the transient transactivation assays. (B) Agrobacterium strain GV3101 carrying the LUC reporter plasmid and different combinations of effector plasmids was infiltrated into N. benthamiana leaves and the luciferase activity at the site of infiltration was measured 3 d after infiltration. The activities of firefly luciferase (LUC) and renilla luciferase (REN) were measured sequentially and the LUC/REN ratio was calculated as the final transcriptional activation activity. Data represent the mean ± S.E. of six biological replicates. Asterisks indicate significant difference (P < 0.01) between combinations by Student’s t-test.
