Identification of Cys325 as the S-nitrosylated cysteine residue of procaspase-9.

(A) 293T cells expressing procaspase-9 were incubated with various concentrations of GSNO for 1 h and assayed for SNO-procaspase-9. Bands were quantified and the intensities were represented as fold-increase vs. 0 μM groups. Data were expressed as means ± S.D. from three independent experiments (n = 3). *P < 0.05 vs. 0 μM groups. (B) Time course of the SNO-procaspase-9 level in transfected 293T cells treated with 200 μM GSNO. Bands were quantified and the intensities were presented as fold-increase vs. 0 h groups.
