Figure 10: Enhanced uptake of nanoparticles by GRR10W4 in melanoma cells.
From: Pronounced peptide selectivity for melanoma through tryptophan end-tagging

Nanoparticles were coated with either GRR10 or GRR10W4 peptides in Tris buffer (2 μM peptide/100 ppm particles) for 3 h. RPMI 7951 cells were then incubated with the peptide-coated nanoparticles for 2 h and subjected to confocal microscopy. (a) Representative confocal microscopy images of GRR10W4 peptide (green) and nanoparticle (red) uptake in RPMI 7951 melanoma cells (upper) and quantification of GRR10W4 peptide and nanoparticle uptake (lower). #,*p < 0.05 compared to no treatment (0 nM) of the same group. (b) Comparison of the effects of GRR10 (50 nM) and GRR10W4 (50 nM) peptides on nanoparticle uptake (upper) and corresponding quantification (lower). *p < 0.05 compared to GRR10.
